Top Things To See in Palermo, Part 2

We finished our tour of Palermo the next morning.

The Cattedrale di Palermo is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Palermo.

Nearby is the Villa Bonanno. If the nuns were offended by the Fontana Pretoria's nude figures, they surely would not have approved of the statue in the center of the park.

The Porta Nuovo is a monumental city gate.

The view from the other side of Porta Nuova.

The Norman Palace also known as the Royal Palace of Palermo is home to Sicily's regional parliament. You can book a timed entry online--tickets are €13.50 + €1.booking fee and see the Palantine Chapel. Dress conservatively--no shorts, short skirts or low-cut tops.

One of the few surviving street signs that's still written in 3 languages: Italian, Hebrew and Arabic.
