I found The Best Meatball Recipe at allrecipes.com
I modified it a little, added tomato sauce and served it over soft polenta.
The Best Meatballs
1 lb Italian sausage
1 lb ground beef
2 large eggs
4 garlic, minced
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups bread crumbs
2 Tbs chopped parsley
Salt & Pepper
1 cup water
Mix all ingredients and shape into meatballs.
Fry in olive oil until brown.
