Easy Black Forest Cupcakes

This is an easy but impressive dessert.

Prepare boxed chocolate cake according to package instructions. Line baking sheet with Silpat and pour cake mix onto sheet. Even out batter and smooth. Bake according to package instructions but bake for only 10-12 minutes. When toothpick comes out clean, it's done.

Using a biscuit cutter, cut rounds out of the sheet cake.

Place round in bottom of cup cake holder. Spoon cherry pie filling over it, reserving cherries for later.

Mix 1 pint heavy whipping cream with 1/4 cup powdered sugar until still peaks form. Pipe over cherry pie filling layer.

Place another cake round on top.

Pipe another layer of whipped cream.

Add cherries on top
