From Trapani, you can drive or take the cable car to Erice. The cable car station is located 6 miles from the center of Trapani and can be reached by bus or car. If you drive to the cable car station, park in the lot across the street from the station--parking is €1.50 for 3 hours. The cable car costs €9.50 roundtrip and operates 9am-20:00, Tue-Sun. On Mondays, the cable cars start running at 13:30. It's closed Nov-March and during high winds.
The cable car drops you a short walk from Porta Trapani, the main gate of Erice.
Alternatively, you can drive up a winding road for 30-40 minutes. You'll get beautiful views on the drive.
Parking in Erice is limited but in the off season, you should have no problems. The parking in Erice is €0.20/hour Oct 1-May 31 and €0.50/hour Jun 1-Sep 30.
