Cinnamon Roll

I found this cinnamon roll recipe on ambitiouskitchen.com. It is the best cinnamon roll.


Cinnamon Roll

Dough:

3/4 cup 2% or whole milk, lukewarm

2 1/4 tsp yeast

1/4 cup sugar

1 egg + 1 egg yolk

1/4 cup butter, melted

3/4 tsp salt

3 cups bread flour


Filling:

3 Tbs butter, softened

1/2 cup dark brown sugar

1 1/2 Tbs cinnamon


Frosting:

4 oz cream cheese, softened

2 Tbs butter, softened

1/2 tsp vanilla

3/4 cup confectioner’s sugar


Add yeast to lukewarm milk and stir. Add sugar, egg, egg yolk and melted butter. Mix on low. Add salt and bread flour and mix with wooden spoon. Knead on medium for 8 minutes.


Place dough in greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap. Allow to rise for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until it is double in size.


Heat oven to 350 degrees.


Transfer dough to a well floured board and roll to 14 x 9 inch rectangle. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon and mix with butter. Spread on dough.


Roll tightly then cut into 12 slices with serrated knife.


Place in 13 x 9 inch pan lined with greased parchment paper. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 30-45 minutes.


Remove plastic wrap and bake for 19 minutes until light brown. Let cool for 10 minutes.


Mix frosting and spread on cinnamon rolls after it is cooled.
