Just next door to Gelatomania was the bus stop to Castelmola, a town perched above Taormina. You can hike up for 1 hour but it was too hot to walk uphill. We purchased a one-way ticket for €1.90 and planned to walk down. It's a 15-minute ride and buses come every hour.
