I had read about a locals' place for lunch near the waterfront. It's located at R. Gen. Gomes Araújo 1. It wasn't easy to find but it was well worth it.

We took the 15E trolley and got off near the Museu Nacional de Arts Antiga. There was a passageway over the trolley tracks that led us to an industrial port. I followed Google Maps and came upon this rotating bridge. Just on the other side was the restaurant.

There is dining inside and out. We didn't have reservations so we were given a table outside.

Bread--€1 and Azeitonas (olives)--€1. The bread was really good--nice and chewy.

ree

Chourico Assado--€2.50. So good. Lean but full of flavor. Highly recommend it.

We asked what was fresh that day and ordered Rabalo--€12.50. It's a deep sea fish.

ree

Garoupa (Grouper) was also fresh that day--€20.

Both fish were simply grilled but delicious.
