Top Things to See in Viseu

We were able to walk to the historic center from the Pousada. The Junta de Freguesia was just a couple blocks away. It is an administrative office of Viseu, a provincial center..


We walked up Rua Direita, the Roman road that crossed Viseu in a north/south direction.

Catedral de Viseu was originally built in the 13th century. It has a 16th century columned interior and a 17th century Mannerist facade.


The Museu Nacional Grao Vasco is next door. It was originally built as the bishop's palace.

Fountain of Tres Bicas supplied water on the hill of the Cathedral.


Statue of Dom Duarte--the King of Portugal in the late 1300s.
