Marvao is a 20-minute drive from Castelo de Vide. It is a village with a population of 110, perched on a hilltop. It is only 10 km from the Spanish border.

Park outside the Porta de Marvao.

Once inside the gate, follow the road on the right and climb up to the castle.

The Igreja de Santa Maria is just southeast of the castle. It houses a 1-room museum offering a history from the Paleolithic era to recent centuries.

The castle was built into the rocks in the 13th century.
