Our stop for the night was Villafranca del Bierzo, a 20 minute drive from Ponferrada. It's a small town on the Camino de Santiago.

1. Stay at the Parador Villafranca del Bierzo
2. See the Iglesia de Santiago & Puerta del Perdon
3. See the Castillo. This 14th century castle is closed to the public.
4. See the Iglesia de San Francisco, founded in 1213.
5. See the Hospederia San Nicolas El Real. The Hospederia is a hostal but there are also private rooms and a restaurant. It's a popular stop for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago.
6. See the Iglesia Colegiata, a Catholic Church.
7. Eat Mollejas at the Alameda.
