We spent the night at Airas Nunes by Pousadas. It was conveniently located, just a 3-minute walk from the Catedral and the price was right--€70. There is no staff on site. You get a code the night before. There is someone available by phone if you do need something and there is a phone inside the building.
Fortunately, we didn't have any problems accessing the pousada or our room.
