After getting our pies at the Gifford House, we took the Scenic Drive south to Capitol Gorge.
The main road is paved.

The paved road ends at Capitol Gorge. It becomes unpaved for 2.4 miles and ends in a parking lot where you can access the Golden Throne Trail and Capitol Gorge Trail. We were afraid to drive in an RV and turned back.

Views of the Fruita Orchard off Hwy 24 as we traveled east and exited the park.
