TravelingFoodie2

Oviedo's old quarter is easily walkable. Start at the Catedral.

Nearby is the Velarde Palace, one of the buildings used for the Museo des Bellas Artes,

Even bank buildings are beautiful. This is the BBVA building, an Argentinian bank.

Antigua Universidad de Oviedo dates from the 17th century.

Step inside to admire the courtyard.

Iglesia de San Isidro, dating from 1587.

The Town Hall sits in the Plaza de la Constitucion.

Mercado El Fontan is nearby. The marketplace is housed in a Victorian building, built in the 1880s.

The Mercado is named after the nearby El Fontan, the spring that filled the lagoon in the area.
