Vigo is full of sculptures. In addition to the aforementioned El Sireno or Merman, there are sculptures scattered throughout the city.
El Banista (the Bather) is located near the waterfront. There is also El Nadador (the Swimmer) by the same artist. It's located in the Praza da Estrela but we somehow missed it.
Walk east along the waterfront and you'll come upon the Monumento a Julio Verne.. It is a tribute to Jules Vernes, who devoted a chapter in "20,000 Leagues Under to Sea" to the Bay of Vigo.
Right next to Jules Vernes is the Xardins das Avenidas. This was a sculpture in the park. I could not find the name of it.
Monumento a los Caballos is located in the Praza de Espana. It's a short walk after visiting the castle. It's a tribute to the horses that populated the mountains near Vigo.
We found this interesting sculpture in the Plaza Centro Commercial but couldn't find the name of it.
