I had a week off in early January and had planned to go to Death Valley. Unfortunately, after the holiday COVID surge, California issued another stay-at-home order. Campgrounds were closed and we couldn't travel.
Instead, we spent a week at Sanctuary By the Sea in Albion, just south of Mendocino. It turned out to be a great week. I love winters along the Northern California coast. You can get beautiful calm days or the ocean can be very angry with rough waves. Either way, it's spectacular.
