Hampton Inn Channel Islands Harbor

We usually stay at the Embassy Suites for my husband's family reunion in Oxnard. It was undergoing renovations so we stayed at the Hampton Inn in the Channel Islands harbor.

The small pool at the Hampton Inn was nothing compared to the pool complex at the Embassy Suites.

The room was large.

I upgraded to a harbor-view room with a balcony. For a multi-night stay, it was worth the splurge not to look out on a parking lot.

Breakfast was included.

Make your own waffles.

Powdered eggs were not good but the sausage patty wasn't bad.

Final impressions: The rooms are clean but the hallway carpet is dirty. The pool is very small. Beds are not made and rooms are not cleaned--the excuse was COVID. They will change your towels, empty your garbage and fold your toilet paper into a triangle. They will also pull out a couple kleenex in order to make a sad-looking flower.

All this for $340/night for a marina-view room. Definitely not a good value.
