I always stop by Moqueca when I'm in Oxnard. It's a Brazilian restaurant, located at 3550 Harbor Blvd #201.

Complimentary eggplant appetizer. I love the vinegary eggplant appetizer. It's a chopped up version of caponata. The dry toast is the only disappointing part.

We tried the Calamari this time. $16. These were okay.

The star of the show is the Moqueca--large Mariscos for $42. It's large enough for 2 to share although you might want to get extra rice. Clams, mussels, calamari, octopus and shrimp in a tomato, onion and cilantro sauce made with garlic, lime juice, urucum (a Brazilian seasoning) and a splash of coconut milk. This is so good. I love the flavor of the stew.
