Pousada de Viseu

After visiting Sanctuario de Nossa Senhora dos Remedios, we arrived in Viseu and the Pousada de Viseu, our home for the night. It's a beautiful converted hospital. I thought it might be creepy to spend a night there but it was so beautiful, I completely forgot it was a former hospital.

-parking: free parking on site


3. Room:

-size: 280 sf

-noise level: quiet

-bed: larger than king, comfortable

-bathroom:

-shower pressure: good

-amenities: slippers, bathrobe: yes

-amenities:

-safe: yes

-fridge: yes

-electric tea kettle: yes

-coffee maker: no

-free bottled water: yes

-English channels: yes


4. Hotel:

-elevator: yes

-WiFi: strong


5. Breakfast:

-included: yes

-variety: scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms, salami, ham, turkey, cheeses, baked goods



The pousada was beautiful and stately.

"The Cathedral" on display. It's an intricate wooden piece that was built for the 800th anniversary of the siege of Lisbon that brought it under Portugues control in 1147.

There was an indoor heated pool but you need to have a swimming cap. If you don't have one, you can purchase it for €5 at the reception desk. There was also a jacuzzi, sauna and massages were available

The outdoor infinity pool was beautiful.
