Palacio Episcopal

Gaudi's Palacio Episcopal is a Gothic-style palace built between 1889 and 1913. The original design was Gaudi's but the building was finished by architect Ricardo García-Guereta after Gaudi's disputes with the Diocesan Board, It's worth a visit to see the interior. Entrance fee is €6. There is an audioguide. Plan on spending at least 90 minutes, if not longer.

On the grounds, you'll find 3 angels. They were supposed to be placed on the tops of the building but that never happened. Instead, you'll find them in the garden.

After presenting your ticket, you enter a large central hall. The audioguide explains each of the rooms and their significance.

In the basement, you'll find many historical items. This was a Roman mile marker.

The Throne Room

Look for the owl in one corner.

Many of the rooms have stained glass windows.

Not too subtle a message.

On the top floor, the design is different. This was the part designed by Ricardo García Guereta.
