Navajo Bridge

After Horseshoe Bend, we headed to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, The drive passed the Vermillion Cliffs.

Crossing the Colorado River on Hwy 89A. This modern bridge was built in 1995 and replaced the older Navajo Bridge right next to it.

These two bridges are similar in appearance and represent one of 7 land crossings of the 750-mile Colorado River. The historic Navajo Bridge is now a pedestrian bridge.

Stop at the Interpretive Center and walk across the Navajo Bridge. There's a large free parking lot.

We were fortunate to see California condors, as they rested on the bridge.

They're not the prettiest birds but they are beautiful when they take flight and spread their wings.
