I had read that Nannarella had good gelato so we headed there to see for ourselves. It's located at R. Nova da Piedade, 64A.
We got Guandiuja, Chocolate Negro & Pistachio--€3.70 for medium. It was very creamy and good and worth the trek out.
Be sure to see the Sao Bento Palace, the Parliament, nearby.
If you have more time, have piri piri chicken at Churrasquira da Paz. I heard it was one of the best in Lisbon but it's a very inefficient place and service is slow, even for take-out.
