From Goblin Valley, we headed to Canyonlands. En route, you can see Monitor & Merrimac Buttes. These buttes are 600 feet above the sandstone floor and are named after the Civil War ironclad ships. The Monitor, on the right, was the Union ship. The Merrimac, on the left, was the Confederate ship.
