We stayed at the Mandalay Bay Embassy Suites in Oxnard. Room rates have really increased. We paid nearly $400/night for a partial ocean view room in Building 2. Last year, it was $100 less/night.
It is a 2-room suite with 2 full bathrooms. There was a balcony where we enjoyed our breakfast.
Breakfast still has an omelette station but the rest of the buffet has been cut back. Instead of serving yourself, there are 2 servers to dish your plate. Interestingly, you still plate your own fruit. Didn't make sense that they would allow you to plate some things and not others during a COVID surge. Juice is in containers and not dispensed from machines. Muffins are still available.
Happy Hour has changed. Instead of having as many drinks as you wanted and snacks for free, you now receive a $12 credit/person for drinks. That equates to 1 drink per person--you still have to pay the tax and tip. The credit cannot be used for food.
The living room has a pull-out sofa bed.
