Oviedo is known for its ciders. We had lunch at La Finca, a Sidreria, located at C. Gascona 4.
Cider is poured from high to aerate it.
I ordered the Fabada menu--€18,, which included a bottle of cider.
There was a tomato salad with fresh cheese and basil to start. This was serving for one.
Fabada is a Spanish bean stew famous in the Asturias region of Spain. The Fabada included beans, pork shoulder, morcilla (blood sausage) and chorizo. It was mainly beans. Not the best thing I ever ate but then again I'm not a big bean fan. The beans were tender and the sauce was good enough.
Rice pudding for dessert. This was good with a brûlée on top.
My husband ordered the Costillas de Gochu Astadas--€19.80. He liked the tender ribs.
