The Iglesia De Santiago (Church of St. James) dates from the 12th century.
The main entrance to the church,
On the side facing the town is La Puerta del Perdon. This is the "Gate of Forgiveness." A 16th century Papal Ruling allowed pilgrims who had made it this far but were too sick to travel to Santiago were pardoned anyway.
Next door to the church is an albergue, a pilgrim's low-budget dorm. It was built on the site of a medieval clinic that cared for the pilgrims who needed aid. It was the only medical care for 300-miles around. There are 80-beds in the dorm.
