Grand Wash Trail

After Hickman Bridge, we continued on Hwy 24 to the Grand Wash Trail. There's parking at the trailhead but no toilet.

Trail Details:

Easy

Distance: 4.4 miles

Elevation gain: minimal

Time: 2 hours

Loop: no

Description: Off US24, park at Grand Wash Trailhead. Walk along sandy & dirt trail to Narrows after 1.1 mile. Continue to trailhead for Cassidy Arch. Return along same route.

The hike was very easy: flat and shaded on a sandy trail.

After 1.1 mile, you'll enter the narrows.

Continue on the trail to reach Cassidy Arch or turn back. The most dramatic part of the trail is the Narrows.

At the Cassidy Arch trailhead, you can reach the Cassidy Arch in 1.5 miles, with an elevation gain of 950 feet. We didn't have enough daylight to attempt the hike.

You can also continue on the Grand Wash Trail to reach Grand Wash Road, which is a 1.3 mile unpaved road that would take you back to the Scenic Drive.

Instead, we retraced our steps back to our car on Hwy 24.

Back on Hwy 24, stop to see the Behunin Cabin, a modest home and another preserved Mormon homestead.
