Gran Mercado Medieval, Ponferrada

We happened to be in town during the Gran Mercado Medieval. It's a small medieval fair situated right across the street from the Castillo de los Templarios. Entrance was free.

We arrived in the late afternoon and there weren't too many people there yet.

There were stalls selling food, such as olives.

Big ovens set up to roast meats.

There were children's play areas.

And, even an exhibition of exotic birds.

It was worth a stop but not enough to make a trip out of it.
