Just inside the east entrance to Valley of Fire State Park, you'll find Elephant Rock.
Trail Details:
Easy
Distance: 0.3 miles out & back
Elevation gain: flat (unless you climb to the top of the rocks to see it from the other side)
Time: 10 minutes
Loop: no
Parking: at East Entrance.
Description: From parking lot, follow signs on left to trail. Stay on trail, even when it looks like it is headed to the road. Rock resembling elephant. Best view from behind. Sandy trail.
Park in the lot and take a short walk to see Elephant Rock. The trail is flat and paved for a short portion.
Go behind the rock to see it from the other side (facing the road). It's much easier to see the elephant's trunk.
You can see the rock from the road but it's not as good an image and there is no parking on the road.
