We arrived in Breisach at 8 am. Our tour to the Black Forest departed in the afternoon, so we had time to explore the town of Breisach in the morning. Optional tours included a visit to Colmar and an eBike tour to the Black Forest.

Lunch onboard:

ree

Alpine Salad--mesclun, honey-goat cheese toast, cherry tomatoes, Black Forest ham, red radish, walnut vinaigrette. This was quite a good salad.

ree

Fish & Chips. It was okay--the batter was heavy. I substituted sweet potato fries.

ree

Black Forest Ice Cream. The ice cream was not premium and the cherries were barely present--skip the calories.

ree

At 6:30pm, we attended the Captain's Farewell Cocktail Party, where drinks and canapes were served.

ree

Dinner followed at 7pm.

ree

ree

French Goat Cheese Souffle with Tomato Coulis. Not too exciting.

ree

Tom Kha Gai--Thai chicken soup. This was watered down.

ree

Veal & Mushroom Stew with Potato Rosti. The rosti was crisp but there wasn't much stew.

ree

Seared King Dorado with Seafood Fregola Sarda, a Sardinian pasta.

ree

Portobello Mushroom Risotto

ree

Black Forest Cake

ree

Key Lime Pie. This was tasty but such a small portion.

ree

We stayed up to watch us go through another lock.

ree

It was a tight squeeze.

ree

Closing the gate behind.

ree

Opening the gate in front once the water filled.
