This was a moderate day because we had more up and down on the trail. Our route took us from Afife—Vila Praia de Ancora—Caminha, 17.7 km (10.6 mi), 4:41, 150m up/80m down. We walked along grassy paths and along the beach today.
Where the Caminho do Cruzeiro do Val and Caminho do Revolta met, there was a monument where you can leave your stone.
Fifteen minutes northeast of the Casa d'Joao Enes, we came upon the Convento de Sao Joao de Cabanas. It was being renovated to become an upscale B&B and restaurant. Something to consider if we pass this way again.
Another 1h 45m north, you'll come into Villa Praia de Ancora. The Villa Praia de Ancora Church sits in the main square.
Head to the coast and follow the trail along the ocean. We picked up picnic items at the Coviran in Villa Praia de Ancora and found a table at the beach to enjoy our lunch.
After another 1.5 hours north, we could see Spain.
Coming into Caminha, the last town in Portugal, before crossing the Rio Minho into Spain.
The Clock Tower in the center of Caminha.
