At 7:30 am, the ship arrived in Rotterdam and dropped off guests for the Cheesemaking and Kinderdijk tour.

We had breakfast after that. To our surprise, we saw the ark as we sailed to Kinderdijk.

At 10 am, we arrived in Kinderijk. The windmills were nearby so it was easy to walk off the ship.

After a 2-hour tour, we returned to the ship to have lunch. The ship set sail at 12:30 pm.

ree

The Red Bell Pepper Soup with Jalapeno Salsa was delicious.

ree

Trofie alla Genovese--Liguria twisted pasta, fresh pesto, potatoes and green beans. The trofie was cooked al dente and the pesto had good flavor although there was a little too much of it.

ree

Grilled Salmon Filet, served with spinach, parsley potatoes and lemon butter. We asked for ours with a side of French Fries. The salmon was good but it was a tiny portion.

ree

The Vanilla Rice Pudding with Strawberry Sauce was okay. It was a little dry.

ree

Caramel Sundae with chantilly cream and toasted almonds. The ice cream was not good

The Captain gave a nautical talk at 2:30 pm then allowed a visit to the Wheelhouse after that.

At 6:15 pm, the Captain hosted a Welcome Aboard Toast. This evening, we wore our finest--a dress for me and a jacket for my husband. The port talk was at 6:45 pm and dinner followed.

Crab Cake with Scallion Remoulade had a decent amount of crab, good flavor and the remoulade was tasty.

ree

Roast Chateaubriand with Bearnaise Sauce, gratin potato, glazed vegetables was excellent. It was very tender. The Bearnaise Sauce could have more tarragon flavor but I'll overlook that since the beef was so tender.

ree

The Oliebollen was the Regional Specialty of Dutch donuts with dried fruits. The donuts were too dry.

ree

The Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting, on the other hand, was moist and good.
