Cruise America

We drove to Las Vegas and picked up an RV at the Henderson Cruise America. It's a convenient location and the bonus is that there is a Costco nearby. Reserve your pick up time to minimize your wait.

There is no parking available onsite. Drive around the corner and park on the road. It's not a secure site but there were plenty of cars. We figured we would be okay as long as we didn't have the fanciest car.

ree

We rented a 19-foot Compact RV.

ree

There's a small storage space outside. Just enough to hold a hose and gloves.

ree

The interior cabin is comfortable. We put a cooler in between the seats for easy access to cold drinks. We froze bottles of water and as it defrosted, we had cold drinks. The cooler measures 14 x 19 inches.

ree

The console has 2 cigarette lighters but no USB port.

ree

The bed above the cab was comfortable but you can feel the seam in the middle. It's smaller than a queen. There are 2 windows with screens and an overhead window. If you have mobility issues, you might have difficulty climbing into the bed.

ree

The dining area is roomy enough for 2. It does convert to another bed. We used the space beneath the table for storage. Bring bungee cords to hold the boxes in place.

ree

We used the storage above the table for our clothes.

ree

There is a separate seat behind the cab, if you have a 3rd passenger. The RV is small and 3 adults would be tight. There is a space beneath the chair where we stored our hiking boots.

ree

Storage above the extra seat and entry door.

ree

The kitchen has a small refrigerator with a small freezer. The microwave oven was plenty powerful.

ree

The freezer does ice up but it wasn't too bad.

ree

There was a closet next to the refrigerator. Bring your own hangers.

ree

The sink was very large and there was a 2-burner stove, along with a vent. There was plenty of storage underneath.

ree

Storage above the sink & stove. Since we did a lot of dispersed camping, with no electricity available, it would have been better to bring a tea kettle.

ree

There were dividers to keep plates and bowls in place.

ree

The bathroom was small. You can take a shower, brush your teeth and use the toilet at the same time. Be sure to close the curtain or you'll get water in the cabin. I brought a squeegee to wipe down the bathroom after showers. Be sure to bring RV toilet treatment tablets.

ree

There is a medicine cabinet but no storage under the sink.

Here are Dollar Store finds to bring along: door mat, disinfecting spray, brush & dustpan, squeegee.
