They have a nice patio overlooking the river. We ordered a Papo de Anjo (on left, Angel's double chin--baked egg yolk pastry), Foguete (in middle, deep fried pastry with sweet filling) and Sao Goncalo (on right, should be a penis cake but it was closer to a baba rhum)--€1.30 each.
Penis cakes are very popular in Amarante. They are in honor of the town's patron saint, Sao Gacalo and they are sold year-round. They're especially popular during the annual festival to the saint, which occurs in June.
