The street just behind the Hotel Bahia de Vigo is Rua Pescaderia, where you can find lots of seafood restaurants. We had dinner at Casa Vella.
We had a nice bottle of Albarino for €18.50.
We ordered the Mariscada (seafood platter) for two--€49.50. It included stone crab claws, langostinos (large prawns), cigalas (crawfish), navajas (razor clams), gambas (shrimp), almejas (clams), zamburinas (scallops), mejilones (mussels). The platter was so large, the two of us barely finished it.
We added percebes (gooseneck barnacles) for €10 for 100 grams. Percebes are difficult to harvest and command quite a price. They taste just like the ocean.
Of course, we had to order Padron Peppers--€5.80. These are blistered then sprinkled with sea salt. They're mainly mild but occasionally you'll find a surprise hot one.
