We had lunch at Casa Mando. It's located at C. Gral. Lafuente. Be sure to make a reservation online. https://casamando.com/#casa-mando

Our reservation was at 1:30pm. We were the only ones there. The Spaniards eat late. By 2:30, the restaurant was full.

ree

We had a glass of Valjunco Albarin--€2.50. It's a hefty white with 14% alcohol by volume. Wine in Europe is so much less expensive than in the US.

ree

We also had a glass of La Clave Mencia--€2.50. Mencia is a red grape found in northwest Spain.

ree

Amuse Bouche of Jamon Iberico. This was so good! It was full of chestnut flavor--apparently what the pigs were fed.

ree

Gazpacho Traditional--€10. This was thick and creamy and full of garlic and vinegar flavor. Sooo good!

ree

Lengua Curada con Fascas de Queso y Aceite de Pimentón--€12. Cured lamb tongue with cheese and pimento oil. The tongue was slightly smoky and delicious. This dish could have easily been shared with 4 people.

ree

Mollejas a la Leonesa--€15. These sweetbreads were so tender.

ree

Solomillo Asada a la Pimiento--€21. The sirloin was prepared rare, just to our liking. It was flavored with just sea salt and pepper. The meat flavor was so intense.

ree

The sirloin came with a basket of French Fries.

ree

Mignardise at the end of the meal.

ree

Bread service was €1.50 each and bottled water was €3. Total bill came to €69, roughly $81. Tax and tip already included.
