Canyonlands National Park

Canyonlands National Park preserves nearly 338,000 acres and comprises 4 districts. Entry to the park is $30 for 7 days, free with an America the Beautiful annual pass. If you visit Utah's National parks, it's definitely worth the $80 annual pass fee.

The most visited and most easily accessible district is Island in the Sky in the northern edge of the park. The other districts are Horseshoe Canyon (the only district that is not contiguous with the others), the Maze and the Needles. Island In the Sky, the Maze and the Needles are separated by the Green River and the Colorado River and there are no roads in the park that directly link the districts. Traveling between them requires 2-6 hours by car. Four-wheel-drive, high-clearance vehicles are required to visit the Maze.
