Goblin Valley has a campground that can be reserved up to 16 weeks in advance. Needless to say, there were no sites available since we didn't plan that far in advance. We ended up boondocking just outside the park. We found a ridge that overlooked the valley.

Proximity to neighbor: 3 RVs parked on ridge

Cell Service: 2 bars. My husband was able to download email on his Samsung. I was not on my iPhone.
It was really windy just before sunset but the winds quieted down overnight. The sunset was beautiful.
And, the sunrise the next morning was also beautiful.
Goblin Valley is one of the darkest places on earth and the night sky is supposed to be spectacular. I've seen just as good a night sky from our place on the California coast.
