American Airlines A321T Business Class

American Airlines A321T Business Class has 10 first class seats and 20 lie-flat business class seats. Since we had a red-eye flight, the lie flat seat was key.

Large-screen monitor and a place underneath to store your small carry-on bag.

Charging panel including USB ports

The amenities bag was standard--socks, eyeshades, toothbrush/toothpaste, earplugs, lotion and pen in a small felt bag.

Dinner was:

Roasted red & yellow beets, mascarpone goat cheese, citrus vinaigrette for a small plate. This was shredded beets and the flavors did not work well.

Lemon tart for dessert--crust was limp.

Main options were:

Gorgonzola-crusted beef filet with balsamic demi-glace, potato gratin, asparagus, blistered tomatoes. The beef was very good. Tender and had good flavor.

Another main option was braised chicken cacciatore with porcini mushrooms, zucchini squash and creamy polenta. This was part of their collaboration with the James Beard Foundation. The chicken was tender but I liked the beef entree better.

Other options included:

Grain & Greens Bowl with brown rice, cannellini beans, marinated edamame, baby arugula, carrot, cherry tomatoes, Parmesan cheese with lemongrass salmon available upon request

Porcini truffle tortellini with Tuscan cream and marinara sauce, baby arugula
