a Lanterna, Nazare

TravelingFoodie2

We had dinner right across the street from our hotel at a Lanterna. It's located at Rua Mouzinho de Albuquerque, 59.

The restaurant is known for cataplana, which is popular in the Algarve. These are served in copper pots which keep the dish warm. We ordered the Robalo, Camarena, Ameijoa--€40.00 for 2 people. This was a huge portion and the broth was very tasty. It included seabass, shrimp and clams. The seabass was cut into steaks and added to the casserole, head and all. There were a lot of bones but the seabass was so tender. The dish could have fed 3-4 people.

Olives--€1 and 375 cc Casal Garcia Vino Verde--€6.
