The Fremantle Station is a short walk from the Passenger Terminal. We purchased tickets for Zones 2-4 for A$5/person.

The ride to Perth Station took about 30 minutes.

Commonwealth Bank of Australia

We were there right before Christmas and decorations were everywhere. There was even a scavenger hunt to locate all the Christmas decorations. This one was a Christmas ode to Cricket.

From the Perth Station, we walked to Elizabeth Quay. There was a Sand Sculpture display. This scene of the manger was the most elaborate.

On the other side was a whimsical Christmas scene.

First Contact Sculpture by Laurel Nannup in Elizabeth Quay. The sculpture is inspired by the Noongar people’s initial encounter with European settlers--distant sailing ships appeared as giant floating birds on the horizon.

Elizabeth Quay Bridge connected one side of the quay to the other.

The Bell Tower--a specially built 82.5-metre-high (271 ft) copper and glass campanile that house the Swan Bells. They are the second largest set of change ringing bells in the world, Twelve of the set are historic bells from St Martin-in-the-Fields church in Trafalgar Square in London; six others, cast in recent times by the Whitechapel Bell Foundry, round off the set. The St Martin-in-the-Fields bells were donated to the State of Western Australia as part of the 1988 Australian bicentenary celebrations.

View of downtown Perth from Kings Park, one of the world’s largest urban parks. It was a steep ride to get into the park.
