On Day 3, we used the Opal card and took a ferry to McMahon's Point. You get a stunning view of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. We made our way to Wendy Whiteley's Secret Garden and wandered through the garden.
From there, it's a little tricky to find the entrance to the Harbour Bridge. We stumbled upon an outdoor market before finding the entrance to cross the bridge. It's free to walk across Harbour Bridge. You can climb the arch of the bridge but it's a hefty A$344 ($220) price tag.
Our next stop was the Australian Museum. It's free to enter. There is a Natural Science Collection as well as Cultural Collection.
After the museum, we took the bus to the ferry terminal then the ferry to Manly Beach. There are shops and restaurants to visit from the ferry terminal to the beach. The ride out to Manly Beach is beautiful and gives you a nice view of the Opera House from the harbour.
Back in Sydney, we walked to Mrs. Macquarie's Chair. Mrs. Macquarie, the governor's wife, ordered a seat be chiseled out of the rock so she could view the harbor. It's located at the point next to the Royal Botanic Garden. During our visit, the Noel Sydney, a Christmas celebration, took place in the Royal Botanic Garden..
