Mode Kitchen & Bar, Four Seasons

We had dinner at Mode Kitchen & Bar in the Four Seasons. Our room rate included $100 (A$156) in dining credit.

We started with Tasmanian Octopus--A$30 ($19). It was wood roasted and served with chickpeas, sambal, sea succulents. The octopus was tender and a fairly decent portion with 4 tentacles.

Our next course was Acquerello Risotto, Green Asparagus & Black Pearl Mushroom--A$42 ($28.19 US). The risotto was well prepared al dente. The Duck Breast, Dry Aged, English Spinach, Apricot, PX Sauce--A$48 ($32.22 US) was the star. It was a large portion with 7 thick slices of duck.

We had the Iceberg Salad--A$15 ($9.50) next. This was delicious with roasted sesame dressing and furikake.

Frozen Pavlova, Pomegranate, Cranberry, Raspberry, Amarena Cherries--A$25 ($16.78 US).

The food was quite good but service was really slow. There was a long lag between each course and I almost fell asleep.
