Our next walk from "Walking Milwaukee by Royal Brevvaxling and Molly Snyder"started at the Public Market to visit the Third Ward.

Nearby is an installation by "Cracking Art," an artistic movement founded in Europe in 1993 over the group's concern about the "invasion of plastic into everyday life." The giant swallows are made of recycled plastic and metal.

Right next to it is a pickleball court.

The Third Ward is located south of downtown and is Milwaukee's oldest center of commerce and warehousing. The Wicked Hop has won the best Bloody Mary contest many times over.

The Marshall Building is a century-old warehouse that has been converted into commercial and retail spaces.

Milwaukee Ale House where Milwaukee Brewing Company got its start.

The Royal Enfield Motorcycle Dealership.

Bugsy's Back Alley Speakeasy, a Prohibition-themed cocktail lounge, is accessible from the alley.

On the side of the Lofts on Broadway, you’ll find the faded lettering of “Factory of Rex Chocolates: King of Bitter Sweets." This was once the home of The American Candy Company.

Close up of the "Ghost sign."

Nearby is a bronze statue of a fireman and his trusty dog, entitled "Engine Company No. 10."

Another ghost sign.

The Broadway Theatre Center houses 2 theaters: the Cabot Theatre, a replica of an 18th-century European opera house and the "black box" Studio Theatre.

Jason Pickleman's "Hand Heart," another Sculpture Milwaukee.

A historical marker for the Third Ward Fire of 1892.

Across the street from the marker is a small park--Catalano Square with "The Pink Planet," named for the planet discovered by NASA in 2013.

The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.

At Trestle Park, you'll find a swing bridge still owned by the Union Pacific Railroad.

Condos along the Milwaukee River.

Kayakers on the river.

The Sail Loft, located where the Milwaukee River empties into the Kinnickinnic River.

The Daniel Hoan Bridge, sometimes referred to as the "Bridge to Nowhere," by people who have a low opinion of Bay View.

Some pretty big fish in the river.

Lighthouse at Milwaukee Harbor marks the inlet to Milwaukee's inner harbor.

You can see the Milwaukee Breakwater Light in the middle of Lake Michigan.

Lakeshore State Park has a walking trail along Lake Michigan.

Continue north along the lake until you come to Discovery World, a science and technology museum focusing on the ecology of the Great Lakes.

We left the walk and went north towards the Milwaukee Art Museum. We passed the Discovery World Sculpture Park.
