Arriving in Fremantle, we passed the Western Australia Maritime Museum, where the America's Cup winner Australia II is displayed.
The ship arrived at the Fremantle Passenger's Terminal at 2pm. We hustled off the ship and walked 14 minutes to the Fremantle Prison, Western Australia’s only UNESCO world heritage site. We took the Convict Prison tour for A$22/pp. The tour took 1 hour 15 minutes. The Prison closes at 5pm.
The prison was built in the 1850s.
Almost 10,000 men were transported from Great Britain and Ireland to serve their prison sentences.
