The main sight to see in Victoria is the Citadel, the ancient city-fortress of Gozo. It sits on a hilltop with a commanding view of the island.
Pick up a walking tour brochure from Visit Gozo and start at the Pjazza Indipendenza. The Citadel is free to visit but there is an entrance fee for the museums.

The present Cathedral is at least the 3rd structure of worship at this site. There has been a building of worship for at least 3000 years. The current structure was built in the late 1600s. The Cathedral is dedicated to Santa Maria, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven.
One of its attractions is the false dome, Malta's most spectacular perspective painting.
