Salt & Stone

Salt & Stone also has a great outdoor dining area. It's probably one of the best places to enjoy a sunny Sonoma County day. It's located at 9900 Sonoma Highway in Kenwood.

They offered a $15 2-course lunch. What I didn't like is that you have to ask for the Restaurant Week menu. If you don't ask for it, you end up paying the regular menu price.

There were several options for the entree. The 2nd course was either the soup of the day--which was Leek Potato or dessert--Chocolate Torte.

This was Cauliflower Gnocchi with Local Mushrooms, Baby Heirloom Tomatoes, Spinach, Chevre, Walnut-Arugula Pesto, Balsamic Reduction. My sister thought the ingredients didn't work well and found the dish boring. I liked the cauliflower gnocchi--they were well fried and had a nice crispy exterior but soft interior.

Lamb Burger with Wild Baby Arugula, Pickled Red Onions, Cucumber, Feta, Ciabatta Bun. Served with Field Greens or Pomme Frites. The lamb burger was very juicy.

The Flourless Chocolate Ganache Torte was amazing. It was dense and rich with candied walnuts, butterscotch and raspberries.
