Monti's

It's been a while since I've been to Monti's. It's located at 714 Village Court in Santa Rosa. They have a nice outdoor area.

Fresh Flash Fried Calamari, Lemon Wheel & Lemon Aioli--$12. These were good. Coating was crispy, squid was not chewy and it was not greasy. There are deep-fried lemon wheels (sliced lemons) which were quite tasty.

Soup of the Day was roasted tomato. This had great flavor.

Escarole & Radicchio Salad, Granny Smith Apples, Candied Walnuts, Dijon Mustard Vinaigrette, Point Reyes Blue Cheese--$11. This is one of my favorite salads at Monti's. The Dijon mustard vinaigrette was slightly sweet and worked well with the salad greens and apples. This is a good size and can be shared with 2 people.

Muffaletta--Journeyman Spicy Coppa, Provolone, Green Olive Tapenade, Arugula--$14. Not the classic muffuletta from Central Grocery in New Orleans but my friend liked it. The coppa was nice.

Grilled Sirloin Burger, Journeyman Bacon, Blue Cheese, Salsa Verde--$14. Not sure the salsa verde added to the dish.

Truffle French Fries--$8. The truffle flavoring was too subtle.

Meyer Lemon Tart, Raspberries, Toasted Coconuts & Whipped Creme Fraiche--$10. I'm not a big coconut fan but I still liked this. The lemon was perfect--not too tart & not too sweet.
