A friend of mine told me about the deep fried chicken with sweet rice at Hong Kong Restaurant. Of course, I had to try it. Hong Kong Restaurant is located at 3691 El Camino Real in Palo Alto.
Deep Fried Chicken Stuffed with Sweet Rice (whole)--$45. This was amazing. The skin was crispy and the sweet rice was perfect. It was not mushy at all. The chicken is enough to feed 10.
Fish Filet with Tofu Clay Pot--$16.50. This was just okay. The fish was non-descript as was the brown sauce.
Fresh Black Mushrooms with Tender Greens--$12.50. There was plenty of mushroom.
Eggplant with Hot Garlic Sauce--$12.50. Eggplant was tender and the garlic sauce wasn't too spicy.
Braised Tofu--$11.50. Nothing special about this dish. The usual tofu in a brown sauce.
Deep Fried Prawns with Walnuts--$16.50. The prawn coating was too thick and there weren't many candied walnuts.
Kiang Ton Spareribs--$11.50. The spareribs were deep fried then mixed with a sweet & sour sauce. It was pretty good.
Yang Chow Fried Rice--$9.95. Just your typical combination fried rice. Not bad and it wasn't expensive. House Chow Mein--$11.95. Again, just your typical combination fried noodle.
Singaport Rice Noodle--$10.50. This had a nice curry flavor. I preferred this over the fried rice and chow mein.
Sautéed Pea Sprouts--nice garlic flavor.
