Grata Italian Eatery, Windsor

I had not been impressed with Grata in Windsor but decided to give it another try during Restaurant Week. They had a 3-course $35 or a 4-Course $55 option. It's located at 186 Windsor River Road in Windsor.

I went with the 3-course option and started with Little Gem Caesar Salad--little gem lettuce, focaccia croutons, parmesan. The lettuce was crisp with just the right amount of dressing. Only complaints were the Parmesan was grated instead of shaved and there were no anchovies. Minor point.

The shrimp scampi over fettuccine was delicious. Four large shrimp sautéed with garlic, butter, lemon, shallots and white wine over fettuccine. The fettuccine was al dente. I usually don't like cheese on my seafood but the Parmesan cheese actually made the sauce creamier.

I chose the lemon ricotta cheesecake, served with raspberry sauce, whipped cream, and pistachio crumble for dessert. It is lighter than a typical cream cheese cheesecake. The raspberry sauce was delicious and the pistachio crumble added a nice contrast to the cheesecake.

Overall, dinner was delicious and good value. I'll return to try some more dishes.
