Foreign Cinema, San Francisco

Foreign Cinema is located at 2534 Mission Street in San Francisco. There is an outdoor courtyard where old movies are shown in the evening. Be careful where you park and be careful walking in the Mission.

Salt Cod Brandade--$23. Very tasty.

Potted trout rillettes, gold trout caviar, frisée, pickled cucumber, toasts--$20. I loved the shredded trout rillette. This was even better than the salt cod brandade.

Castelfranco chicory salad, lemon-anchovy vinaigrette, garlic croutons, persimmon, watermelon radish, St. Jorge--$15.50.

Grilled lavender-brined pork chop, sweet yam purée, Spanish onions, Lacinato kale, Dijon butter--$38. The pork chop was well prepared and tender.

Five spice duck breast, Parsi-onion hash, crispy Brussels sprouts, D'anjou pears, quacklins, toasted almonds--$35. The duck was also quite good.
